Because cancer care should heal more than just the disease.
Our goal is simple: to care for your body, mind, and spirit. We do that by supporting you and your loved ones through every emotion and stage of treatment. With two dedicated treatment rooms, patients can receive complementary therapies designed to reduce the pain, stress, discomfort, and anxiety often caused by cancer and its treatment.
With a comprehensive treatment plan at UMC’s new TLC2 Foundation Cancer Center, patients are encouraged to adopt lifestyle changes that can minimize the impact of the disease, help them better tolerate treatment-related side effects, help reduce treatment delays or interruptions, and reduce the chance of recurrence. Through the generous support of the UMC Foundation, qualifying patients have access to these integrative services.
Traditional acupuncture, combined with modern medicine, is used alongside cancer treatments to bring balance and improve quality of life by relieving symptoms such as pain, fatigue, nausea, and night sweats.
Meditation is a mind body practice that encourages focused attention, present moment awareness, and intentional breathing to promote relaxation and emotional balance. Through guided or self directed techniques, meditation can help reduce stress, ease anxiety, improve concentration, and support overall wellbeing during and after cancer treatment. It is a gentle, non-invasive practice that complements medical care and supports mental and emotional resilience.
Music therapy uses listening, creating music, guided relaxation, and vocalization to reduce stress, regulate mood, support emotional expression, and promote relaxation during treatment.
Art therapy offers a creative outlet for emotional healing. Through drawing, painting, and other mediums, patients can express feelings non-verbally, reduce anxiety, and gain emotional insight.
The Behavioral Health team at the UMC TLC2 Foundation Cancer Center works with you and your family to provide ways to cope with anxiety and stress, improve your sleep quality, and train you in relaxation and mindfulness techniques. They can also assist you in communicating with your care team.
We offer yoga classes for our cancer patients as part of our integrative care approach. Classes are held every first and third Tuesday of the month, at 10:00 am, at UMC Connect inside UMC Health and Wellness Hospital.
Every patient’s journey with cancer is unique—and so are their nutritional needs. At UMC, our compassionate Registered Dietitians are here to support you in setting personalized nutrition goals and creating a plan that works for you. Eating well during treatment can help you stay strong, boost your energy, reduce your risk of infection, and support your body’s natural healing and recovery process. We’re here to help you feel your best every step of the way.
Massage therapy provides therapeutic touch aimed at relieving muscle tension, improving circulation, and decreasing stress. Specialized oncology-trained massage practitioners adapt sessions for safety and comfort, reducing pain, anxiety, and treatment-related stiffness while promoting relaxation.
We understand that the financial aspects of your cancer journey can feel overwhelming. That’s why UMC offers dedicated Financial Navigators who are here to advocate for you and guide you toward helpful resources and support programs. Our goal is to ease the financial stress so you can focus on what matters most—your health and healing.
